Role Summary: The Lead Engineer - MRB and Repairs Structural Analysis will support a small team of repair engineers and structural analysts providing technical leadership and managing day to day delivery of project requirements. You will collaborate closely with design and program teams as well as other technical leads within the MRB and Repairs group, contributing to the delivery of both sustaining and major new NPI programs.
In this role, you will :
Provide leadership and technical direction to a team for MRB and Field Repairs across both sustaining and NPI Programs
Be the MRB and Repairs analysis lead in the program / project- provide interim reports to customer and modify plan as required
Effectively communicate with the customer or program manager to assure a quality product is delivered
Be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy
Interface with external organizations and supporting functions, and directs / coordinates the efforts of project team members in order to accomplish overall goals
Facilitate interaction of staff members with each other and external organizations
Coordinate, direct, and coach the activities of project team members
Provide input on other individual contributor performance, training, and development needs
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an aircraft MRB / Repairs stress engineer with analysis of aircraft structures using a range of standard hand calculation and computational methods
Advanced Degree from an accredited university or college
Educational training in structural analysis fundamentals
Industrial experience to apply finite element analysis results and classical hand analysis approaches to composite structures
Aerospace experience with the FE tools such as PATRAN / NASTRAN, ANSYS, HYPERMESH, and / or ABAQUS
Ability to assess structural problems under pressure and to work with other team members
Ability to confidently undertake aircraft stress calculations, and produce clear, concise reports and other documentation, of appropriate quality
Technical writing capability in support of engineering documentation activities
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
