Role Summary: The Support Engineer is responsible for providing ongoing support and maintenance of Lenel OnGuard Physical Access control system hardware and software and related infrastructure
Essential Responsibilities: • Provides direct technical application support to GE Site Security contacts across the globe. • Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions/other operational problems, and coordinates with outside vendor intervention as necessary. • Maintains record of equipment as well as users assigned to the access control system. • Creates, modifies, and deletes system end users accounts and conducts password maintenance as directed • Receives daily requests for Access Control System additions/deletions/changes. Completes requests, replies with confirmations, and retains record of access requests. • Conducts regular system tests to ensure system data integrity and accuracy. • Acquires, documents, and maintains IP Addresses and all permissions necessary to operate existing and newly installed Access Control Systems within the respective domains • Installs new software releases and system upgrades on server and instructs area access managers in same. • Monitors Microsoft updates, as well as security patches, and resolves any resulting software related problems. • Provides 24/7 on-call technical support to GE Security contacts regarding system specific operational/applications issues. • Provides 24/7 on call coverage to facilitate all repairs necessary • Develops and provides necessary access control reports as required • Manages installation of OnGuard client software
Qualifications/Requirements: • 3+ years supporting Physical Access Control systems such as Lenel OnGuard, PicturePerfect, PassagePoint, Facility Commander, FcWnx • Ability to work during 2PM - 11PM and 10 PM - 7 AM shifts to provide 24/7 support across the globe • Provide Incident and Problem management using ITIL processes • Generate reports using SQL Server Reporting Services
Desired Characteristics: • Experience with Cloud-based systems • Experience in Linux, shell scripts • Team player – experience within, or desire to be part of, a technical team • Experience working in a global environment, where teams are working in different time zones • Ability to "think outside the box". • Working closely with management team in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future development.
