Role Summary: Drive strategy/vision for the Direct purchasing and the vendor relationship program while also ensuring compliance with all policies-processes needed to optimize the software, middleware and licensing portfolio, measure Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and drive product margins. S/he will leverage proven NPI (New Product Introduction) + technical experience in software, middleware, 3rd Party licensing and all supporting professional services to maintain a world class Direct Procurement program.
Develop, Lead and Execute all Direct Sourcing strategic engagements at GE Digital
Partner with all stakeholders to fully understand product roadmaps and develop vendor strategy to support.
Drive daily touchpoints with Predix Design Engineers and Product Managers to assess all product changes proactively. Exercise NPI experience and/or technical prowess software, middleware, 3rd Party licensing and all supporting professional services to ensure all Product modifications are compliant with strict Sourcing & Finance change management processes.
Manage all GE Digital Direct vendors. Ensure all third-party vendors are creating value. Build robust working relationships with strategic vendors. Lead and coordinate all efforts to survey, audit, assess and qualify new vendors.
Identify, qualify and formalize GE Digital Direct Preferred Vendor list (PVL). Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment. Guide all stakeholders to the PVL, measure and enforce compliance.
Lead all Direct RFI, RFP and RFQ’s. Partner with all internal stakeholders. Present RFx results to team and drive closure of approved purchase decisions.
Own interface with select GE Digital ‘Predix Store’ partners. Partner with Finance, PM and Design teams. Present ROI results to team and influence partner decisions when revenue sharing is advantageous.
Measure, report, benchmark and improve cost productivity as a function of market pricing and competitive offerings (e.g. hard deflation, cost avoidance, credits/rebates).
Proactively manage inventory levels/costs, develop inventory forecast (right size), execute effective supply chain strategy to reduce risk and monitor all supply chain programs and processes for tight internal compliance.
Develop and manage scorecards which measure vendor performance, root cause issues and drive improved performance. Own all aspects of vendor performance (cost, quality and delivery).
Lead governance process with Finance for Predix product portfolio; to include gathering and addressing critical stakeholder feedback and potential business improvements.
Read, write and interpret Direct legal agreements. Explain legal implications of a contract to internal stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in IT, Business, Finance, or related field +2 years proven NPI experience in the software industry or +2 years proven start-up experience as a technologist in software or +5 years Direct Sourcing experience in IT product and services.
Strong knowledge of Direct purchasing, negotiating and end-end vendor management and performance.
Demonstrated Influencing and Negotiating skills at all levels within P&L and vendor organization.
Demonstrated outcomes in Leading Direct strategic negotiations.
MBA in IT or Business/Finance
Proven technologist with strong background in software, 3rd Party Licensing & software related professional services.
Demonstrated ability to successfully influence critical stakeholders.
Proven Experience of highly developed business acumen & process engineering skills.
Demonstrated ability as a thought leader; sought for advice, counsel and judgement.
Proven Experience as a Leader of cross-functional teams; with strong start-up or entrepreneurial background.
