In this role the candidate will be responsible for import and export operations related to the different industries where GE operates and provide customs/International trade support to GE Businesses. The candidate will work on an operational Customs team responsible for import/export program support.
•Support Customs area with import and export transactions for designated GE business: Import documents review, Export documents issuance, follow up of purchase orders, record keeping, customs broker instructions, import/export customs clearance control, temporary import/export management, broker billing audit, license authorization, SIMIs and LNAs and other special permits required.
•Work closely with Customs Brokers, exporters, logistics suppliers, freight forwarders and GE Businesses and keep all team informed about import /export orders, shipment status and escalations to achieve on time deliveries.
•Support Customs Leader by monitoring & gathering performance indicators from the business operation, Customs Brokers and other relevant suppliers. Metrics report monthly to regional team.
•Audit import and export transactions files, ensure records to achieve compliance with relevant international/local laws and regulations.
•Provide customs advice to business related to International trade.
•Utilize measurements to capture costs, duty payments and performance in the areas of compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
•Support Customs area to obtain permits and special customs programs, including management of certificates of origin and other certificates requested.
•Generates new simplification and saving projects related to import transactions which could be replicated in different GE business.
•Work on Due Diligence & compliance documents required by the company to approve customs brokers.
•4/5+ years of Import /export experience.
•Must be fluent in Spanish & English (verbal & written).
•Foreign Trade or International Business Degree.
•Strong coordination capability, self-starter, creative, exhibits ownership, initiative and able to work as a team.
•Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
•Good knowledge of Argentina’s import-export regulations.
•Understanding Risk/Legal with the ability to research and comprehend issues relating to national import regulations.
•Highly motivated, proactive, strong interpersonal, team and communication skills for sharing information openly, fully and accurately.
•Strong customer focus demonstrating an understanding of a customer's business, and assisting vendors to understand customer needs.
