Role Summary: Reporting to the BU Supervisor the People Area Lead will be responsible for organising the day to day activities of a team of Lead Operators and Process Operators across the Business Unit to deliver the business needs and customer requirements of that area in a manner that enhances the direct relationship culture.
Plan delivery • Production/Packaging Schedule delivery: create day plans, plan and deliver schedule. Organise area and lines to maintain schedule, update, liaise and communicate with other departments to execute schedule • Batch Documentation: accountability for Batch Record Right First Time, Liaise with QA/QP/Support departments and Compliance Area Lead in resolving process/technical issues on line • Handover: ensure detailed shift handovers are prepared and completed
People management • Manage and interface with team: spend daily time on floor with shift ensuring contact time with operators and Lead Operator and provide active direction and supervision • Deal with operator issues: actively follow up on grievances, escalate issues in a timely manner • Identify and manage positive and ‘needs improvement’ behaviours in the team. • Team Leadership: lead, motivate and manage the team to achieve required targets • Performance management of reports: ensure continuous performance feedback is maintained, act as an employee advocate, recognise and reward employees as appropriate, manage G&Os/PMPs. • Employee development: provide information on and suggest relevant training for employee • Update and maintain COREHR, co-ordinate leave, follow late’s/absence procedures, schedule overtime as necessary and update overtime board • Recruitment: participate in the selection and recruitment of operators
Communications • Meetings: attend relevant meetings and lead/provide input as necessary e.g. meetings with Supervisor and Operator team meetings • Communications: communicate and update the team regularly (e.g. on site policies and goals through team/department meetings)
Compliance • EHS: ensure EHS Compliance on your shift. Identify safety risks and report in a timely manner • Quality: accountability for team’s compliance. Continually raise standards of on-line Compliance, ensuring adherence to SOPs and accurate and timely documentation. • Ensure 5S standards are maintained and improved
Continuous improvement • Suggestions: surface ideas and suggestions from team. Support BU Suggestions scheme program. • Drive CI within shift: Be proactive in surfacing continuous improvement initiatives. Drive improved yields and efficiency • OEE: track and deliver line performance against target and implement OEE improvement actions • Batch reviews: drive Batch Record Right First Time on shift
• Previous experience of working within teams • Appropriate technical skills and industry sector experience desirable • Excellent people, communication and interpersonal skills • People Management Experience • Leaving Certificate a requirement, 3rd Level Qualification desirable
