Role Summary: The Production Supervisor provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives during the site’s 2nd shift. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Production Supervisor-2nd Shift, you will:
Supervise test and shipping employees during 2nd shift to make sure that all equipment is properly picked, tested and loaded for next day deliveries
Drive daily schedule attainment to meet all internal and external customer commitments with top quality at the lowest cost and improve quality, service and safety
Ensure that all EHS standards are being upheld during 2nd shift and concerns are properly reported and addressed
Develop, coordinate, lead and execute daily production plans
Implement and sustain quality checks of all loaded jobs for the next day to prevent delays or job cancellations
Ensure that items received on late deliveries are correctly received in the system and all packing lists are maintained for the receiving team and in addition, all physical moves to and from the shipping racks must be completed in SAP
Provide any additional after-hours support required for scheduling trucks, requesting parts from other sites, or issuing parts out to service techs as required
Work with Engineering and Product Service to identify root causes and solve external quality issues
Maintain product knowledge as new products are released
Support all current Technical Support Agreements, Supporting Services Agreements, or other support related agreements
Accomplish goals while maintaining high team morale, employee involvement, safety and teamwork
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (High School diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Production Supervisor position)
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Production Supervisor position
Ability and willingness to work the 2nd shift
Prior manufacturing / leadership experience and training is preferred
Ability to build and lead a team through change
Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
Six Sigma training is preferred
OMLP Graduate is preferred (GE employees only)
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work without direct supervision
Strong understanding of business processes in a service environment
Ability to manage contract resources
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
