Role Summary: The Lead Buyer will assure sourcing activities are in full compliance with the company sourcing policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Lead Buyer, you will:
Apply the Total Cost of Ownership principle to obtain the lowest landed cost and best value for equipment while ensuring quality, working capital, and delivery requirements are met and balanced effectively
Prepare RFQs/ RFPs, solicit and evaluate supplier proposals, while employing appropriate negotiation and should cost analysis techniques using available expertise from supporting organizations
Work with the commercial proposal team to accurately budget equipment in proposals to prospective clients
Drive supplier competition, negotiations and leverage top performing suppliers
Expedite all purchase order deliverables including equipment, services and data
Select and develop suppliers to best-in-class status in the areas of quality, service, cost, and innovation
Execute procurement activities for assigned commodities and projects, under direction of the site Sourcing Leader
Prepare, issue, and negotiate purchase orders, subcontracts, terms and conditions, supply agreements, and other agreements with suppliers
Monitor supplier performance to quality, delivery, cost, innovation and working capital objectives
Meet / exceed assigned yearly goals and objectives
Manage assigned projects / suppliers as well as respective commodity buy
Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain) from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years of Sourcing, Project Management or Engineering experience

Master's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills
Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite products
Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, circumference and volume
Education and experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation
Experienced negotiation abilities with direct suppliers in a leadership role
Project and EPC sourcing and procurement experience
Experience with SAP ERP system
Experience with Should Cost Analysis
Experience with completing Net Present Value (NPV) / Internal Rate of Return (IRR) analysis
Procurement experience in Engineering Sourcing environment
Six Sigma training or equivalent quality certification
