Role Summary: The Membrane and Element Product Manager is directly responsible for the overall profitability of the Membrane and Elements product lines. The Senior Product Manager will own the Multi-Generation Product Plans (MGPP), and develops short and long range revenue growth plans and competitive strategies for the product line on a global basis. The Product Manager will also involved in long term planning and contributes to the overall business strategy for the Membrane products.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Senior Product Manager – Membrane and Elements, you will:
Oversee the total product life cycle utilizing a multi-generational product plan (or Growth Product Playbook), interacting with Technology, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Sales and Technical Marketing to drive product platform improvements, differentiation, penetration and market expansion
Develop growth and competitive strategies for the product on a global basis
Develop concepts for new products by collecting and analyzing internal and external customer feedback, market research, emerging technology, and competitive trends Directly own the product portfolio and drive the process of NPI’s and their final launch into the marketplace
Work to develop and execute launch plans to bring new product introductions to the market and sales account managers by working closely with the Commercial Operations, Product Marketing, Technology and Supply Chain teams
Establish and deliver short and long term sales growth and profitability improvement targets
Develop and coordinate execution plans to drive improvement
Track material cost, revenue, fulfillment and CM rates by product, product family, market segment, and by geographic region
Interact regularly with commercial leaders, supporting them on high priority opportunities
Drive market awareness of products through external marketing efforts such as publications, customer training, and customer seminars
Determine list pricing structure, implement price adjustments and execute the DOA for customized price exceptions
Work closely with Commercial Engineering team on price exception levels of authority, pricing targets, and execution of product line pricing policy
Develop, manage and implement product forecasts and targeted product stocking strategies with Sales, PSI and Supply Chain
Stay closely connected with Technology, Sales and Technical Marketing to maintain a deep knowledge of current product and market developments, in addition to identifying opportunities for new market penetration. Continually evolve product line related Growth Playbook segments
Work closely with Supply Chain (manufacturing, sourcing and engineering) and Technology to eliminate low use or high cost products, consolidate product line offering, and substitute lower cost raw materials
Provide direction and support for the creation of sales tools, launch materials and collateral with Product Marketing resources
Attend and help plan customer / product shows and events
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering / science discipline such as Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering, or related technical discipline
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in operations, customer and/or vendor relations, sales, application engineering, product management and/or marketing
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the water treatment industry
Ability and willingness to travel 35% of the time, as required
Experience directly managing a product line
Experience working with diverse, global teams in a matrix environment
Global customer and competition experience in water and waste water markets
Demonstrated ability to create a vision, a strategy around this vision, and drive a plan to execute
Strong process and project management skills with ability to drive projects and meet deadlines
Proven success in developing and leveraging cross-functional and cross-business relationships; ability to work with cross-functional teams to build effective processes
Strong analytical and computer skills
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Global customer and competition experience in water treatment products
