Role Summary: The Signal and Power Integrity Engineer is responsible for simulation and analysis of signal integrity, power integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility compliance for high speed complex digital circuit boards used in GE Healthcare products.
Essential Responsibilities: 1. Collaborate with modality design engineers and recommend strategies for PWA design that will insure first-pass success of the design for signal and power integrity. 2. Provide design guidelines, constraints, feedback, assistance and solutions to design and layout engineers. 3. Perform pre and post layout simulation of PWA designs. 4. Review final design layouts and simulation results to ensure that signal and power integrity requirements are met. 5. Work with hardware teams across the business to drive good signal and power integrity best practices. 6. Instruct engineers on signal and power integrity concepts and how to perform basic simulations. 7. Perform lab analysis and correlation of lab data to simulation tool output. 8. Recommend and advise business on tools to use for signal/power integrity.
Quality Specific Goals: 1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position. 2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines. 3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required. 4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design. Control FDRs and NPI program milestones. 5. Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements: 1.BS in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience 2. Understating of electromagnetics 3. 5 years of relevant experience in signal and power integrity 4. Ability to use SI/ PI tools such as Sigrity, HSPICE, and 3D modeling and extraction tools 5. Familiarity with SI/ PI requirements for DDRx designs 6. Familiarity with SI/PI requirements for multi-gigahertz SERDES 7. Knowledge and experience with IBIS and IBIS/AMI models and limitation 8. Experience using SPICE and HSPICE models for SI/PI analysis and also for general analog simulation 9. Experience using Time Domain Reflectometry Oscilloscopes and Vector Network Analyzers
Desired Characteristics: 1. Experience with GEHC tools— PLM systems (MyWorkshop and/or Agile), SQCS, ESMART 2. Experience with Cadence Allegro 3. Experience with circuit board layout 4. Knowledge of circuit board DFx (manufacturing, testing, reliability, etc) 5. Must be able to work effectively in a global cross-functional team environment 6. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task 7. Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
