Role Summary: MR Software Engineering Manager – firmware, leads a team of firmware engineers and senior architects to design and develop firmware for MRI product. This role will work closely with hardware, software and systems teams to build firmware for next generation of MRI scanners.
Essential Responsibilities: 1. Setting the technology strategy and direction for global MR firmware while driving continuous improvement of systems, processes and tools to enable execution of that technology strategy 2. Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring. Specifically driving the adoption of modern agile software development practices 3. Guide and coach all phases of product development to ensure Regulatory, Quality, and Standards compliance 4. Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount and base cost budget management 5. Instilling a rigorous approach to customer centric development, software quality and platform development 6. Leading change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues 7. Optimizing team’s participation in all phases of product development 8. Provide firmware leadership in Advanced Technology Development programs. 9. Provide firmware leadership in Variable Cost Productivity programs.
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or Physics, or equivalent experience 2. 5 years in software/firmware product development including software design and development 3. 3 years project management or direct or indirect people leadership experience

Desired Characteristics: 1. Masters or PhD in Engineering (related Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Biomedical) 2. Hands-on experience with agile software methodologies like SCRUM, Continuous Integration. 3. Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 4. Hands-on experience and knowledge in SDLC and IEC62304 software development practices 5. 7 years relevant industrial experience 6. Proven ability to work cross-functionally 7. Demonstrated project leadership and/or people management skills 8. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others 9. Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives 10. Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes 11. Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills
