Role Summary: The Software Engineer has responsibilities of developing software solution within the Imaging Guidance Solution (IGS) business. Additionally, the position may require the engineer to enhance the development infrastructure used to configure, calibrate, diagnose, develop, and test software.
Essential Responsibilities: • Work closely with cross-functional teams in understanding customer needs, collecting requirements, designing & implementing software, and driving feature integration. • Interacting with GEHC cross-modality teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms
Quality Specific Goals: 1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required 4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables 5. Perform continuous improvement activities by implementing process and product quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related computer field 2. 1-2 years’ experience of developing software for complex systems or computerized products 3. Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages, such as C/C++ and/or Java 4. Working knowledge in Software development cycle and automated testing 5. Working knowledge in configuration management tools such as ClearCase, GIT, or Perforce
U.S. (Country) Specific Qualifications: 6. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time 7. Must be willing to work in our Salt Lake City, Utah facility full-time 8. Desired Characteristics: 1. Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related computer field 2. Experience in full lifecycle software development including requirements gathering, design documentation, code reviews and testing. 3. Experience in user-interface design and/or systems engineering 4. Experience in digital platform and cloud application development 5. Experience with CUDA/OpenCL
