Role Summary: The Commercial Manager Offshore will primarily be responsible for the tendering of offshore drilling products (subsea wellhead, tubulars) and associated services. Working closely with Product and Sales leaders, the job holder is a key member of the Global Subsea commercial team supporting Offshore globally and is responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies that positively influence the long term competitive position of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Commercial Manager Offshore, you will:
Own full tender submissions for GE Oil & Gas offshore product and services offerings, including costing, pricing, deal strategy and terms and conditions
Schedule, participate and lead kick-off meetings and commercial risk reviews to gain Senior and Executive Management approvals where necessary (Prospect, Pre-tender, Bid to win, Contract)
Provide leadership during the deal review process to ensure that all technical risk points, risk mitigation, and business risk acceptance levels are properly incorporated in the development of the scope, cost and proposal wording
Identify appropriate qualifications/exceptions and support negotiations through to contract award and handover to OTR (Contract Delivery)
Interface with the Regional Sales and functional teams to develop commercial strategies and solutions that will meet customer requirements as well as meet or exceed business goals
Coordinate the output of proposals to insure the schedule dates are met and that a quality proposal is issued to the customer
Issue clarifications to customers and distribute responses in a timely and efficient manner
Ensure web-based risk tools are updated regularly throughout the tender lifecycle
Conduct ITO lessons learned reviews
Drive development and maintenance of full cost models for all Offshore segments, with particular emphasis on standardization, efficiency and digitization in order to drive productivity, global consistency and increased win rates
Develop new and leverage existing cross-functional relationships with engineering, finance, legal, sales, supply chain and others to clarify technical scope & deliver commercial proposals on time
Maintain knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions and customer base
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of commercial operations / contract management experience including minimum of 2 years in the O&G industry
Successful track record of delivering complex, business changing projects in challenging environments
Ability to successfully interact with and influence diverse groups to consistently meet business and customer service level expectations
Strong experience of successfully leading teams in different countries remotely
Ability to think strategically and be operationally rigorous
Strong communication skills and able to operate successfully within a matrix management environment
Good technical knowledge of the Subsea/Offshore product range
Change agent with strong services acumen
High proficiency level in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Green / Black belt certified (GE employees only)
