Role Summary: Reporting to the GE Oil & Gas Global Risk & Operational Controller, the role will provide leadership on operational controllership tasks across the company such as distributed controllership, supply chain controllership, operational metrics (i.e. Account Reconciliation, Statutory filings) and partnership with Businesses team to resolve internal control gaps.
Essential Responsibilities: The role will require to implement complex processes and systems changes, supporting business strategy and ‘’integration’’ steps for acquired companies
In the role of O&G - Risk & Internal Control Manager, you will:
Partner with Finance Integration team to implement standard internal control & Operational processes over Acquired Businesses
Drive ownership and accountability regarding controllership initiatives, including key metrics (statutory financial statement filings, statutory audit requirements, account reconciliations, etc.) and open items resolution (manage process to drive completion of open items and engage proactively company stakeholders to ensure prompt action & resolution)
Work with Counsel to perform compliance investigation related to Controllership and Improper Payment Company policies; deliver training where needed
Support Product Companies in complying with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act performing risk assessment and control test; for control deficiencies work with Businesses team to mitigate gaps
Partnership with Corporate Audit Staff and interact with KPMG to address proactively open items; execute financials audit and reviews required
Connected with Global Ops COE and Regional team to ensure adequate controls and to resolve open items
Drive special projects, as required, to strengthen internal controls framework across the organization
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university
Minimum 8 years of experience in GE controllership or in Audit firms
Ability and willingness to travel 70% of time, as required
Certified Public Accountant or Master of Business Administration
Effective leader / influencer at within the organization
Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
Strong process management skills and team leadership experience
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with teams across functions and around globe
