Role Summary: Tool Center at GE Kuwait Technology Center will provide Kuwait and MEA region with latest and essential tooling to support outages maintenance and inspections.
The tooling supervisor will be responsible and supervise the inventory, restocking, maintenance and repair of the turbine and generator tool kits to support outage requirements and ensure they are presentable and meet all safety, quality, company and government requirements.
Essential Responsibilities: - Supervision of tool technicians daily activity, assist & advise in technical queries. - Supervision of tool technicians daily activity, assist & advise in technical queries. - Supervision of daily warehouse operations incoming/outgoing - Lead in EHS/Quality related activities and audits - Lead new tooling project development - RFID, Maximo implementation for all tooling in Kuwait - Monitor inventory status of all kits to ensure shipping outbound OTD Target. - Inventory document control, Do check/audit kits quality before shipping - Lead work instructions and testing procedures for the kits - Monitoring of tooling replenishment, re-certification order/receiving of orders - Lead building new tooling / upgrade existing tooling in coordination with Productivity, Engineering teams, Sourcing & vendors including procurement, validation & quality check - Support evaluation of new tooling suppliers including support to add in the system - Lead in developing and implementing cost reduction programs - Responsible for identifying & planning Tools as per kits assignment planning dashboard - Responsible for Tooling inventory/re-certification/repair and replenishment for tooling containers and other tooling kits including handling of variety of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, precision and hand tools.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Services). Experienced in maintenance at power plant industries.
Desired Characteristics: o Computer skilled with good experience in Excel o Turbine maintenance, generator maintenance or tooling experience o Ability to learn, understand, and capable to implement all policies, practices and procedures o Minimum of 6 months of experience with tools used in the maintenance of power plants, generators & turbines o Demonstrates knowledge of electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools and equipment o Demonstrated ability in meeting schedule commitments o Have background with Instrument & Control equipment o Strong inventory process Knowledge and experience o Intelligent understanding industrial maintenance practices o Understanding of analog and digital instrumentation systems (this is a plus) o Demonstrated ability with diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to repair and maintain test industrial equipment and perform quality check(QA/QC)
