Role Summary: This role is integral part of team responsible for delivering best-in-class consultancy services, working on a variety of technical projects and consultancy for the Asset Management Centre of Excellence primarily on the GIS (geographic information system based on GE Smallworld). The role is involved in the wider Asset Management product set, delivering technical solutions to match customer expectation, customer satisfaction and quality within the EMEA region of GE Grid Solutions.
As part of a team, provide the necessary technical expertise to help understand the customer business requirements and realize the business outcomes by delivering solutions built on GE geospatial and mobile technology.
Responsibilities: • Build a strong understanding of the GE Asset Management product structure and functions; • Work effectively with technical teams and suppliers, across multiple large-scale projects and diverse locations. • Develop, test and implement software solutions with a strong geospatial component, including tools for (spatial) data migration, spatial analysis and small focused applications that constitute a mobile enterprise; • Ensure the delivery of software components, test scripts or documentation as specified by senior members of a software development team; • Participate in the delivery of a developed solution at customer premises or in a hosting environment; • analysis, bug fixing and on site or remote operations; • Develop the necessary tools to facilitate on-site or remote operations; • Flexibility to travel to customer site when required, predominantly within the European region but on occasion within the wider region. • Effective and accurate reporting of technical delivery status.
The role is based out of Cambridge, UK but with potential to engage on projects across the region which includes, but is not restricted to, Europe and Africa.
