Role Summary: As part of the Imaging Engineering COE and VCP team, VCP program leaders are critical leadership roles responsible for working with horizontal cross functional teams to lead and drive Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) idea generation, idea activation, program execution, tool development, process improvement, and productivity financial results in specific focus areas towards the overall Imaging VCP goal for Imaging business.
Essential Responsibilities: 1. Lead and drive VCP idea generation with cross functional teams including finance, product management, engineering, sourcing, supply chain, service, IT, Corporate Audit Staff and external consultants to identify cost out opportunities from product ICV, installation and warranty, to install base life cycle cost to serve, through aggressive competitive evaluation, extensive industry benchmarking and should cost analysis, active leverage of Product Management Science tools such as cost handbook and laminated card from Global Research Center and best practices from other GE business, and continuous Disruptive Cost Workout; 2. Lead and drive VCP idea activation by developing and quantifying business cases through comprehensive cost, benefit and return on investment analysis, identifying short term quick wins and long term high impact opportunities with out of box thinking and Fastworks mindset 3. Lead and drive VCP program execution by improving global and cross functional communication and operations planning around critical business processes such as engineering design changes, supply chain and commercial phase in phase out to shorten VCP program cycle time and maximize contribution margin improvement with Smart Simplification approach 4. Lead and drive development and improvement of VCP data base, data analytics, VCP tools, playbooks and training materials for all business and VCP leaders to provide better access and visibility to critical cost information, enable timely decision making, accelerate program execution.
Quality Specific Goals: 1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required 4. Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones 5. Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements: 1. BS Degree in Science, Engineering or equivalent (defined as a High School Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant work experience) 2. 6 years VCP, engineering, NPI program, sourcing, supply chain, IT, or service experience 3. Proven leadership in driving high impact projects in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders with high visibility 4. Familiarity with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards 5. Strong business acumen and finance understanding 6. Strong engineering design, new product introduction, sourcing, supply chain background 7. Strategic and forward thinking with strong execution capability 8. Resourceful, strong track record in delivering results with speed 9. Strong analytical skills, prioritizing and fast decision making capability 10. Strong communication and influencing skills, demonstrated leadership to work with global and cross functional teams
Desired Characteristics: 1. M.S./Ph.D. of science/engineering, MBA, 2. Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt 3. 10 year VCP, engineering, NPI program, supply chain leadership experience 4. Understanding of GE Healthcare product development and engineering work systems
