Role Summary: Drives and reinforces understanding of business strategy and customer solutions by working alongside US-based Communications Manager to deliver integrated communications plans for both internal and external global audiences; works with business and leaders to understand key market drivers and commercial objectives, by region; focused on daily execution of tasks, developing solutions based on growing subject expertise; and occasionally represents the department or function at a broader level.
• Builds relationships and communicates business strategy, brand and commercial achievements to broader GE audiences in industrial energy segments and key regions around the world • Drives clarity and consistency in planning and message tailoring by specific audiences • Ensures messages are driven down into the business using a variety of tactics to reach all audiences • Curates and contributes content and news for intranet and supporting sites • Coordinates global Community Relations initiatives • Supports key leadership initiatives, including employee Town Halls and presentations • Reports, analyzes and communicates success metrics, and identifies actionable insights • External Communications: • Expands global market presence and company brand awareness across paid, earned and owned media channels • Ensure key messages are delivered consistently and accurately across all external communications channels • Collaborates with PR agency and builds relationships with key international industry media, enhancing understanding of business structure, drivers and capabilities; supports global executive media preparation and interviews • Tracks and ensures business is represented in key international thought leadership forums and key industry events • Writes and edits press releases, and other commercial and thought leadership content • Assist is the monitoring and analysis of news related to deals and issues • Contributes content to external company website and social channels
• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Business from an accredited college or university; proven years of experience or equivalent knowledge and experience • Significant experience in a Communications role within a global organization • Experience from within a related global reaching industry (finance, banking etc…) • Comfortable working closely with senior management • Excellent communication skills • Curiosity about, and willingness to learn the energy industry and GE’s import within energy globally
