Role Summary: The Quality Control Inspector ensures a proper identification, planning, execution, testing and recording of quality requirement during the repairing process. To coordinate with the supervisors and manufacturing engineer functions and with the customer representative for all quality assurance aspect.
Essential Responsibilities: • Ensure that quality requirement is identified and sufficiently recorded for the various stages • Represent quality assurance & control during the repair process • Check whether specific advanced product quality plans and other related project specific documents like IT&Plan are established, or stablish these if non -existing • Ensure the implementation of applicable directives & procedures • Participate actively in customer witness and other hold points • Ensure that all planned quality assurance & control activities are performed and sufficiently recorded • Establish the overall repair quality documentation and transfer to customers according actual requirements • Act as NCR handler for NCR resolution process between operations process, suppliers, shops and engineering department. • Solve customer complains concerning quality issues • Ensure periodic analysis of NCR in the repairing line is performed and results displayed and communicated to all personnel from the line • Support operation line in root cause analysis, failure modes & effects analysis and other improvement methodologies • Ensure process and/or measurement systems qualification are performed, recorded and where required improvement actions are implemented • Any another related activity pertaining to this position not listed above, included but not limited to those mandatory for EHS, Quality, applicable laws and GE corporative regulatory compliance
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED with at least 3 years of Quality Control experience in a repair environment • Internal Auditor on ISO 9001 • Internal Auditor on ISO 14001 • Internal Auditor on OHSAS 18001 • Bi-lingual, must speak both English and Spanish
Desired Characteristics: • Previous experience in manufacturing, quality, sourcing or operations, management experience • Ability to work effectively on a team and serve as a positive change agent • Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn and work as technical expert in Quality & Control • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize aggressive deadlines • Understanding of LEAN and Six Sigma concepts – quality mindset • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, able to provide feedback and address employee issues in a positive manner • Level II on NDT's (PT, MT, UT as minimum
