Role Summary: The Test Technician I (TTI) functions as a member of the GE Waynesboro production team under the direct supervision of the Testing Supervisor. TTI’s report functionally to the Test Engineer and the Quality Manager as needed. TTI’s can fill various roles within the Testing Department, including but not limited to helping set up units to be tested, testing various elements of units, modifying electronic test reports, and organizing units to be tested.
Perform duties that may include diagnosing failure types, cleaning and organizing as needed per the 5S Manufacturing Standard, or submitting ideas for improvements in the realm of safety or otherwise
Work as a member of a cross-functional testing team, a TTI should expect to adhere to GE’s internal policies always, especially with regards to safety. Proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) should be used whenever necessary, and proper certifications and training must be in place before operating any industrial equipment
Have responsibilities which may include:
Testing units in a timely manner to keep up with production goals
Entering data into Microsoft Excel-generated test reports
Assisting with organization of various units or elements of production
Utilizing industrial equipment such as
Mobile lifting devices
Attending all pertinent team meetings
Attending training classes as necessary
High School Diploma / GED
Ability and willingness to work overtime or on the weekends as needed to meet production goals
2 year technical degree in field of electronics technology or similar field preferred
Basic to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office software.
A qualifying TTI candidate should possess a drive to succeed in the often-stressful manufacturing environment

Tech-savvy (must be able to use Microsoft Excel and have basic computer skills)
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Consistency with regards to adhering to our production schedule
Humility (always seeking to learn)
Creativity – we are always looking for improvement ideas
Reliability – say/do ratio should be kept high
