Role Summary:
As Director of Solution Architecture team, you will lead team of Solution Architects responsible for deep technical engagements with customers/partners on application/solution design aspects with Predix platform, be trusted technical advisor (to customers, partners, sales, product management, engineering, leadership and other stakeholders).

Essential Responsibilities:
You will develop reference solutions, guide Proof of Concepts & IoT solution development, develop collaterals (reference architecture, case studies, technical notes, best practices, etc) and evangelize Predix platform.

You will also be responsible to hire & guide high-performing team, achieve quarterly & annual goals aligned with Business Unit level goals, be face of the team & Predix platform, manage stakeholders, manage strategic & tactical engagements and play a key role in achieving customer & partner wins.

In this role, you will:
  • Demonstrate very strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product & solution development, successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolution
  • Build and coach world class solution architecture team to consistently deliver customer/partner wins and rapidly increase Predix adoption
  • Establish a deep understanding of our customers business and technical needs
  • Create a “trusted technical advisor” relationship with our customer’s technologists and internal technical teammates
  • Influence decision making through active partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Manage strategic business partnerships and relationships through Technical, Financial, Contractual and Relationship management
  • Interface with CDOs/CTOs and commercial leaders to ensure alignment to sales process and priorities
  • Establish & lead fast paced environment to deliver high quality solutions and proof of concepts
  • Communicate effectively both within immediate team and GE leadership. Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results
  • Develop solution architecture framework to support solution evangelism & selling on an enterprise & channel level
  • Provide deep HW/SW technical architecture expertise to ensure proper solution design
  • Interface with all Pre-Sales Solution Architects globally (and build a community) to train, mentor, guide through new solution architecture framework
  • Lead proof-of-concepts design/execution and Predix Dojo programs
  • Support pre-sales activities including customer engagements, RFx responses
  • Evangelize GE technology platform in appropriate sales forums to drive demand and continued interest
  • Shape, drive and be held accountable for delivering significant strategic initiatives across broad scope/platform(s) in liaison with key stakeholders
  • Provide technical competitive analysis of comparable products/solutions in the market to internal stakeholders; Provide customer insights and feedback that helps define roadmap


Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in software development lifecycle (design, architecture, development and deployment), HW/SW technical sales & customer engagement and team leadership

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to travel (about 25% of the time within US and worldwide)
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA


Desired Characteristics:
  • Significant expertise in designing, developing and strategizing /evangelizing of SW/HW solutions. Including creating and executing propositions and a track record of success
  • Deep understanding of the technology stack to include OS, DB, middleware, application layer, virtualization, cloud & networking technologies
  • Strong experience in IoT protocols, Industrial machine protocols, end-to-end security technologies, high availability of solutions, scaling/performance tuning and multi-region deployments

Technical Expertise:
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory aspects for various domains such as information security & cloud deployments and verticals such as healthcare & critical infrastructure
  • Experience in lower level OS aspects (kernel, hypervisor, process & memory management and firmware)
  • Strong experience in programming languages (such as Java, Python & Go), SOA and middleware
  • Masters’ degree, MBA or other advanced degree preferred

    vulnerability and offers plans to mitigate them
  • Evangelizes new technology, predicts trends, and identifies new opportunities based on trends.
  • Creates a culture of customer focus and high performance to drive innovation. Continuous engagement with focus on GE strategy for customer/partner satisfaction

  • Establishes framework for a culture of successful collaboration by defining a common understanding
