Role Summary: The QA Engineer will work on ITO/Commercial based projects as an automation test engineer or internal consultant in Testing Center of Excellence in support of SalesForce.com and other CRM implementations (e.g. Apttus, Siebel, Service-Max, Big Machine etc.) in different GE businesses.
Test engineer estimates, designs, develops, modifies, maintains, and implements short and long term integrated test and automation solutions for SFDC/CRM applications in GE.
Essential Responsibilities: • Demonstrates increasing expertise in application domain and functional areas. • Applies various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLC. • Takes ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary. • Develops program logic or analyzes and modifies logic for test software, applications, and framework development using technical languages (ex: C++, Java) • Actively participate in discussions with various teams, including SFDC/CRM teams, regarding implementation and design of solutions • Ensure all technology solutions include appropriate controls that comply with GE IT requirements • Applies principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques. • Writes effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactored. • Begins to collaborate with development team in bugs fixing and build plans. • Collaborates with Quality Leaders in creating test plans. Implements and configures testing tools and at times help junior staff. Implements system-level integration testing. • Skilled in core data structures and algorithms.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) • 3+ years of IT experience in the field of software testing • 2+ years of Automated test framework development experience that should include at least 1 year in test automation for SFDC/CRM apps • 1+ years of software development experience involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle • Experience working in a global environment team members working remotely located in various time zones • Strong interpersonal & verbal/written communication skills • Ability to operate across technical and functional teams effectively
Desired Characteristics: • Experience with Selenium, java/C++, SoapUI, Continuous Integration/Deployment (Jenkins, JBehave, Bamboo, Cucumber etc.), HP ALM, JIRA and Rally etc. • Experience in implementing test automation for SalesForceDotCom (SFDC), Siebel, Apttus, Service-Max, Big Machine etc. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively deliver multiple tasks simultaneously • Experience in working on projects developed using DevOps and Agile software methodologies • Experience implementing Continuous Integration techniques and processes
