Role Summary:
GE Water & Process Technologies is seeking a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in Product Development to conduct exploratory and applied research to design and develop specialty chemical products/materials suitable for process industries.

Essential Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will

- Work with commercial and product management teams and customers to define product requirements for specific applications
- Design, organize, and execute experiments to develop new chemical compositions, mixtures and formulations
- Establish specifications and physical test requirements for new products based on application needs
- Interact with vendors, commercial, engineering and supply chain teams as well as potential customers through the product development lifecycle.
- Communicate research results to internal and external stakeholders through reports and presentations

PhD in Chemistry or Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of demonstrated experience in developing specialty chemical products. Masters with >5 years of relevant experience can also apply.

- Demonstrated industry experience in designing & developing specialty chemical products
- Demonstrated experience in the use of statistical design methods for product formulation development
- Hands-on lab experience in synthesis, formulation development and product performance evaluation
- Knowledge of analytical characterization methods typically required to support product development
- Familiarity with Intellectual Property related processes and tools
- Ability to effectively anticipate and manage execution risks in response to new data and insights in a fast-paced development environment.

Desired Characteristics:
Experience in developing products for Oil & Gas Production, Refining, and Petrochemicals applications
