Role Summary:
Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors, and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military and space. Unison's products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying - from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747's and rockets traveling to space. We presently have an opening for a 2nd shift Sheet Metal Operator 2, working from 3:30 PM to 12 AM.

Essential Responsibilities:
 Participate in and support team initiatives; Receive guidance from Level 3 and/or 4 employees.
 Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
 Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
 Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or ideas, etc.
 Must be able within a reasonable time, produce & verify that piece parts are acceptable and produced within print & specifications.
 Set up and operate Sheet Metal equipment (i.e. – shears, press brake, punch press, various types of CNC equipment, etc.) on any processed work (i.e. – production and/or pre-production).
 Require to verify and change tools when necessary; Report problems to Group Leader and/or Coach.
 Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.
 Learn basic functions of Spotwelder; Learn basic operation of CNC equipment.
 With guidance from higher level employees make minor adjustments to machine programs for proper operation on CNC equipment; Learn minor tool sharpening; Learn basic operations within spot welding.
 Learn basic operation of burn barrel & push furnace.
 Must possess abilities to perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third party requirements (i.e. – audit, customer requirements, etc.).
 May assist with proto-type or first time builds; Perform daily machine preventative maintenance.
 Keep equipment in operation by making timely adjustments.
 Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
 Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures; Other duties as be required.

Qualifications/Requirements:
 Education Required:
o High School Education and/or GED
 Experience Required:
o Previous manufacturing experience preferred, preferably 1-3 years of experience.
 Skill Level Required:
o Requires use of basic hand tools and measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, calipers, etc.) with training.
o Proficient in use of basic computer applications;
o Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.
o Understanding of basic mathematical principles may have to do conversions to decimal system and geometry.

Desired Characteristics:
 Past experience working with Sheet Metal, preferably having worked on equipment such shears, press brakes, punch presses, and CNC equipment.
 Past experience in a self-directed teaming environment; Past experience in a manufacturing environment
 Lean manufacturing knowledge.
