Role Summary: Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors, and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military & space. Unison's products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying - from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747's and rockets traveling to space. We presently have an opening for a 1st shift CNC Machine Operator - Level 3, working from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Essential Responsibilities: Perform all level 1 & 2 functions in addition to level 3. Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience. Assist in leading Team initiatives. Perform set up & operation of CNC machines. May set up and operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate parts and tools. Checks for proper tooling, sharpness, & alignment. Operate multiple machines simultaneously. Compliantly troubleshoots tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary. Perform duties on more complex prototypes or first time builds. More frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department.
Qualifications/Requirements: Education Required: o High School Diploma and/or GED. o Special education and/or training to support level 1-2 knowledge. o Prior Vocational and/or Trade training or equivalent experience. Experience Required: o Must be proficient in performing level 1 & 2 responsibilities and illustrate capabilities to successfully perform level 3 responsibilities. o Knowledge of machine shop operations, preferably 3-5 years of experience. Skill Level Required: o Level 1 & 2 skills required. o Perform intermediate mathematical calculations involving decimals, ratios, etc. o Possess intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
Desired Characteristics: Understanding of CNC and manual machine operations Basic programming knowledge to include reading and editing of programs.
