Role Summary: The Western Service Director oversees all aspects of Service operations in the Western US, including Field Services and Machine Shop branches. Leading a dispersed workforce, the Service Manager is responsible for strategy development, workforce planning and management, execution, and process improvement. The service manager has responsibility for $20 +MM volume for field service and shop.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Western Service Director you will:
Lead and directly manage a team Field Service and Branch managers throughout the Western US, providing strategic vision and coaching staff to meet customer and business metrics
Participate in discussions about the future of the business requiring frequent and thorough interaction with other functions
Review business options for impacts on profit, for compliance with contracts, policies, and procedures, and for innovative ways to achieve customer satisfaction
Partner with customers to scope service project requirements. Maintain on-going relationships with customers through the project execution
Interface with Commercial employees to develop customer project proposals for the repair or overhaul of engines and compressors
Interface with the customer service managers on issues escalation, warranty response, and customer issue resolution
Develop long range forecast for region resource needs
Develop and execute short and long-range resource plans based on resource forecasts and region business commitments including recruitment, skills reviews, and resource development through advance level training
Present product / program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leads (EB and SEB) across GE
Interface with important business unit clients
Manage complex processes requiring involvement of many stakeholders both at the client side and internally
Coordinate shop and/or program reviews and customer visits at the site as necessary
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of experience in Services - Functional Management
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; previous experience managing a dispersed workforce
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
Ability to drive strategic growth in the Western US
Knowledgeable in Natural Gas Compression space including Superior Engines, HSR Compressors, AJAX, Cooper Bessemer, and Enterprise product
Familiar with O&G Compression Product lines
