Role Summary: This position is responsible for leading key strategic initiatives within the Database Services Team for CoreTech, and to provide IT and Engineered system solution to all application development and support groups within GE. Partner with Application teams in the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions. Represent CIS in cross-business councils and with key vendors.
Provide organizational leadership in the planning, evaluation, design, development, implementation, and operation of IT solutions
Work with application teams and business leaders to formulate project plans and strategy
Provide technical leadership and support for all planned and unplanned events
Work effectively across various support teams and with senior management
Participate in the technical mentoring, training and education of team members
Ensure our GDC vendors provide appropriate level of service.
Research Engineered system technology, determine business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation plans
Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to implement and support 3rd Party products within the Oracle framework
Architect HA/DR solutions to ensure application availability
Contribute to overall capacity planning and configuration management of the supporting infrastructure
Work with the GE Security Team to promptly address any security issues
Identify and lead automation of repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery
Apply FastWorks methodology to all aspects of the applications
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering
Minimum 2 years of experience with server technology, architecture and systems engineering methodology either academically or professionally

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Van Buren Township, MI
Minimum 3 years in Engineered system operational support including EXADATA, EXALOGIC
Minimum 3 years experience with Linux and or Solaris operating systems
Minimum 3 years experience of authoring and maintaining UNIX shell scripts
Minimum 3 years with problem analysis/resolution for O/S, database, and middle tier technologies
Minimum 3 years experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Minimum 3 years of experience managing ASM storage
Minimum 1 years of project management experience
Experience with EMC SRDF and BCV technologiesKnowledge of Database Technologies
Experience in Oracle 12C
Experience with NetApp storage and associated technologies
Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts.
Data Modeling and ERD design experience
Strong track record of understanding and learning about current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities.
Proven ability to recognize and execute process improvements.
Strong skills in new product evaluation, architecture, implementation, and integration with Oracle databases and Oracle Applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication, cross-team training, and documentation skills.
Willingness to support 24/7/365 applications including on call rotations.
Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources.
Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change, and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways.
