Role Summary: The Lead Engineer Piping and Arrangement for complex Conversion, Modification & Upgrades (CM&U) of Steam Power Plant projects, covering OTR (project execution). Planned projects (EPC type) will be executed within global GE environment at various sites worldwide located.
Essential Responsibilities: The Lead Engineer Piping And Arrangement will be responsible for the overall design including coordination/cooperation with other internal and external engineering teams in this field. Lead Engineer Piping and Arrangement engineer collaborates closely with Project Engineering Manager during the OTR stage.
• Definition and design of piping systems (incl. hangers and supports, pipe specifications and materials, stress analysis of piping) using in-house computer programs. • Technical coordination and functional leadership of arrangement and piping engineers. • Technical coordination and supervision of suppliers. • Release of detailed isometric documentation. • Release of documents for arrangement planning, for foundation planning and steel structures planning. • Planning, forecasting and driving for engineering outputs such as 3D models and related documents and drawings. • Release of all relevant pipe and valve specification. • Release stress calculation reports for relevant pipes systems. • Defines and clarifies open items/deviations with the PEM, Project Engineering Team, and Customer. • Clarifies & supports site with the issues including technical assistance during construction, commissioning and start up. • Participates in the design review meeting. • Ensuring that piping and arrangement engineering scope, costs, time schedule meets all project requirements such as customer KPI, relevant engineering standards and codes, EHS, functional safety and quality standards.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Master / Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent knowledge/experience) • Strong professional experience in piping and arrangements engineering in Power Industry especially in cooperation within global teams. • Good experience 3D Plant Design by PDS / PDMS • Minimum of site experience (performing assistance in field in terms of layout and piping drawings) • Experienced team leader. • Knowledge of Power Plant processes & systems. • General knowledge of the power plant EPC business practices • Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines. • Willing to travel. • Fluent in written and spoken Polish, English. German and other foreign languages also appreciated.
