Role Summary: The Senior Sourcing Program Manager, Next Generation Wind Turbine will own the Global Supply Chain Mechanical COE (Center of Excellence) development and execution of the total life-cycle strategy of the next generation wind turbine solutions for the Onshore Wind business.
Essential Responsibilities: This role will strategically develop suppliers and source components in addition to services to geographically diverse locations, while driving commercial advantage through achievement of quality, cost, usage and delivery goals. You will also control costs while meeting delivery and quality requirements from the supply base.
As the Sr. Sourcing Program Manager, Next Generation Wind Turbine, you will:
Collaborate closely with a wide range of stakeholders including Product line, Engineering, Commercial, and Global Research Center to ensure the successful launch of the next generation wind turbine (WT19)
Work with suppliers and Engineering to define product requirements that will produce the type of modularity that we envision and determine the future supply chain footprint / suppliers to look like
Interface with other sub-systems / functions e.g. rotor lead, electrical lead, logistics lead. Ensure next generation subsystem technologies are developed and ready to be introduced into the product
Work to answer the question, ‘If I could redefine the GE Renewable Energy GSC for our future product, what would it look like?’
Deliver bottom-line growth
Own and drive WT19 financial and strategic planning in GCM (schedule, budget, top down targets from market, new value options, Blueprint, S2, S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning), MGGP, etc)
Be Sourcing interface with Global Commodity Leaders, Commodity Site Leaders, Buyers, Product Line, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics and Quality
Initiate process improvement strategies and plans to improve delivery, quality, cost, risk mitigation
Work with Engineering to track and feed “should costing” data to the design, supply chain and services team to assist in design cost out, supplier concept studies, qualifications and make / buy analysis, visibility, team ownership, milestone development and progress tracking
Ensure that all projects get cut in, on time and translate to the financial ledger for the business
Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of sourcing including a minimum 5 years experience in global supply chain or product costing
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required

Certified Green Belt or equivalent quality certification (GE employees only)
Deep expertise in the Wind industry and/or Automotive or related experience
Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Engineering, Business Administration or in a related discipline from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 10 years of Supply Chain / Sourcing experience
Excellent technical skills with ability to resolve complex issues and communication solutions in a clear, concise manner cross functionally
International sourcing and/or Supply Chain experience
Proven results leading in a global matrix environment
Experience developing supply chain strategy, engineering product launch, or commercial launch of new products
Strategic thinker with ability to grasp complex details and translate into strategy – output driven mindset
Curiosity, passion for excellence, drive to deliver on-time
Demonstrated technical attitude & business acumen
Strong quantitative, structural and analytical skills, must be detail-oriented and data-driven
Demonstrated project management and leadership skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
