Role Summary: Builds fixtures, dies and miscellaneous tooling complete from prints utilizing any and all tool room equipment including mills, drill presses, jig bores, grinders, lathes and utilize CNC equipment to fullest advantage which includes CNC mills, lathes and wire EDM. Ability to program and operate CNC equipment preferred.
In addition you will :
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Tool making
Ability to work with engineered drawings, hand drawn sketches and verbal instructions with limited and or minimal supervision
Ability to make your own set ups on manual bridgeports and lathes along with the ability to use sine bars, sine plates, dividing head, height gauge, and indicators
Ability to run tool room equipment beside the basic equipment such as boring mill, CNC mill, CNC Lathe, surface grinder, and protract type mill
Ability to use shop floor computer to locate fixtures, request fixtures, open and close jobs, and complete any EHS training requirements
Ability to repair existing tooling and rework tooling to print specifications and tolerances
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve tooling problems
Ability to multi-task and process multiple jobs concurrently
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), plus 1 year minimum Tool and Die related experience and / or accredited Tool & Die certificate (I.E. Step II or Joint Vocational School); or equivalent combination of education and experience
Produces error free products
Accurately completes paperwork on time
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
Experience in operating CNC machinery including Mills and Lathes
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to work overtime as needed
Have own tools (such as micrometers, calipers, and other miscellaneous hand tools required to perform job duties)
Ability to read, comprehend and apply information from specifications, drawing, procedures and other quality documentation
Ability to read and comprehend necessary forms
Have the ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from team members, coaches and leaders
