Role Summary: The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving exceptional product quality, customer value beyond expectations, regulatory assurance and optimized Cost of Quality. This is a key technical leadership position for India Loco cabinets program.
Essential Responsibilities: - Drive Supplier Documentation Review as per customer/GE approved documents & to take the issues with Sourcing - Accelerate improvements in supplier/in house quality and deliver value - Develop positive relationships and work closely with Program team to manage and implement supplier / engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers - To compile & manage product/project specific quality documentation for Supply Chain including PPAP - Specify and develop product acceptance / test procedures that relate to a state-of-the-art process or new product - Lead Incoming & Final Inspection process - Provide inputs on inspection methods & improvements related to job - Drive Quality improvement projects - Participating in projects to optimize and standardize processes - Deliver results as measured by key metrics such as cost of failure, yield, field cost, field defect rate, quality plan effectiveness, and corrective & preventative action closure - Update QMS procedures regularly in line with GE QMS - Participate in Internal Audits as an Internal Auditor - Provide leadership role during investigations of major problems or special project - Understand and drive Six Sigma quality internally and with suppliers
Qualifications/Requirements: - First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline - 4-6 Years of Experience in Electrical/Electronic industry – with hands on experience of handling QA processes on shop floor like incoming, in process, final inspection, calibration - Hands on experience on PPAP, New Production introduction & Product Qualification - High level of technical drawings understanding - Strong QMS Orientation, Internal auditor for ISO 9001/ AS 9100 - Oracle QM module experience - Experience on CE,CSA ,UL certified products & associated documentation will be an added advantage - Good communication, computer & MS office skills - Strong EHS Background
