Role Summary: In this position, you will :
Perform operational checks, troubleshoot, and repair avionics and electrical systems on 747-100 and 747-400 flying test beds
Perform a variety of installation and maintenance tasks on avionics hardware and wiring assemblies
Perform routine maintenance of all avionics systems with accuracy and with minimal assistance
Accomplish maintenance, overhaul, repair, modifications and rework on assigned engine, aircraft and test cell components
Interpret work instructions, quality plans, process planning, technical data, etc., to produce satisfactory results with quality and quantity of work performed to meet applicable technical requirements
Accurately document work performed and inform leadership and co-workers of work progress and / or problems
Comply with applicable EHS laws, regulations and internal procedures, including participation in on-going programs to improve the health & safety environment in the workplace
Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers
Other work as assigned (to include being cross-trained into other FTO maintenance disciplines)
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Avionics (including Working knowledge of avionics systems and their operations, as well as glass cock pit experience)
A broad, overall knowledge of other aircraft systems, e.g. hydraulic, flight controls, and major components
Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, technical orders, regulations and other documents to conduct system tests
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Valid Aircraft and Power plant license (A &P)
Must be willing to work any shift in a 7-day operation
Travel up to 15% time
Ability to Lift 50lbs.
Work in or outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
Perform duties / tasks with little or no supervision
Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner
Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or institution
Experience in the field with Boeing wide body aircraft in particular 747-100 and 747-400 with avionics and aircraft systems
Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems such as but not limited to: Autopilots, Flight Management Systems, Navigation and Communication Systems, Electronic flight instrument system, Aircraft Electrical Systems, Lighting, Pitot and Static Systems
FCC radio license
Completed Boeing wide body systems courses
