Role Summary:
The Materials Leader will be the responsible to manage all aspects of material flow and maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including transactions, planning, scheduling, goods movements, to ensure that customers’ orders are fulfilled on time and the execution plan will be achievable.
This Position will also manage a multi functional team including Short Term/Medium/Long Term, Production control, Inventory Leader, Warehouse leaders and Project Planners.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Manage cross-functional, fully integrated planning process that incorporates make versus buy, S&OP and capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material and associated planning elements.
  • Set strategic direction for planning and scheduling activities within the organization.
  • Ability to define clear goals, motivate, engage team member’s energy and expertise to achieve the results.
  • Coach, lead, and develop team leads and members to ensure organizational goals and objectives are met.
  • Leads by example and motivate people to create a challenging, empowering, and collaborative working environment.


  • Manage Long Term Plan analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute on-time in a Engineering to Order environment optimizing the working capital to delivery orders with appropriate service level.
  • Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory and material control.
  • Manage continuum improvement process and contribute to increase CPA (Critical process assessment) scorecard.
  • Manage the inventory counts accuracy by implementing and managing process, in conjunction with Finance, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.
  • Ability to anticipate important or critical events, identifying resource requirements and assigning responsibility for specific work, including deadlines and performance expectations.

System, Controls & KPIs

  • Manage materials reports and controls by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends, using information in a proactively way to mitigate and communicate potential late deliveries.
  • Establishes and manage production scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules.
  • Establish, implement, and manage system to evaluate, monitor materials management area.
  • Coordinate and work with other department to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues.
  • Achieves financial objectives (OP) by working with management group to prepare the materials budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.

  • Adhere to established company policies, procedures, terms and conditions and legal matters that affect GE policies.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Significant experience in Supply Chain Management or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Leadership ability including working in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgment, initiative and creativity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict by identifying and handling conflicts in a sensible, fair, and efficient manner.
  • Individual must be a self-starter, creative and clear thinker.
  • Fluent in English.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
  • ERP Oracle/SAP knowledge.
  • APS Cyberplan or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated GE Growth Values.
  • APICS qualified CPIM or similar.
  • Familiarity with Engineering to Order environment (preference in Oil & Gas).
