Role Summary:
GE Water’s Solution & Structuring team work on our large water, wastewater and process water projects through-out the world where there is a long-term service component or a significant factory pull. The Commercial Risk Manager will work seamlessly with other functional disciplines, particularly Sales and CF&E, to win these opportunities

Essential Responsibilities:
As the Commercial Risk Manager, you will:

  • Be responsible for underwriting the risk associated with these opportunities through-out the sales cycle from lead qualification (R-0) to contract signature (R-3) and handing the project off to OTR
  • Be responsible for structuring of the opportunity, including commercial strategy, scope, execution model and pricing
  • Be responsible for the identification, evaluation, prioritization and mitigation of business risks (performance, contractual, execution, etc.), owning associated Leadership deal reviews
  • Work as a team with CF&E, Process, Sourcing and Sales to ensure all element of offer are aligned with our strategic intent
  • Own the deal closing process employing a combination of contract terms and conditions knowledge, complex deal structure experience and negotiation skills
  • Identity, optimize and leverage GEW’s value proposition, internally and externally


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical / financial / contract Management discipline or related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in BD, sales or related water treatment industry
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and Willingness to travel internationally and locally up to 35% of time, as required
PLEASE NOTE: If being hired to Canada location, you must have legal authorization to work in Canada and any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation: The drug screen requirement in the background check process is not required if the role is based in Canada.


Desired Characteristics:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the market for our equipment and services, and knowledge of our competition, to help position GEW to win business
  • Understand associated life cycle costs and project financing to help optimize pricing and deal structure to position company to win business
  • Previous relevant experience would include bid management, Sales or BD on large contracts with elements of:
    • Extended scope structured projects
    • Long-term services
    • Water outsourcing contracts
    • Project with financing
  • Previous technical experience in water treatment services would be beneficial
  • Deal underwriting experience, with track record of quickly and accurately trading-off risks v’s rewards
  • Demonstrated track record in customer facing influencing and negotiations
  • Highly proficient in contract terms and structuring
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are a requirement
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management, quickly and precisely articulating key risks and mitigations to Leadership
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
