Role Summary:
As O&G Digital Senior Staff Analytics Advocate located at the Oil & Gas Technology Center (OGTC) in Oklahoma City you will work with the O&G Digital team and the OGTC Digital Leader to drive the development, adoption and usage of industrial analytics. You will work with customers to understand product needs, and with engineers, data scientists and developers to create technical specifications for analytic prototypes to be integrated into products that address the customer requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

The OGTC is GE O&G’s research division developing the next generation digital industrial technologies for product offerings spanning the OGTC program areas of Reservoir Performance, Well Construction & Production Solutions, and Oilfield Facilities & Services. As Senior Staff Analytics Advocate, you will:

  • Lead analytics framework development, working closely with analytics researchers, data scientists, mechanical, electrical, petroleum and chemical engineers
  • Work with Product Managers and technical staff in customer engagements to understand user needs and define requirements for the analytics development and productization
  • Develop technical specifications, implementation plan and productization plan for developing and validating analytics
  • Work with analytics development, product strategy & product management teams to conceptualize new analytics products and features.
  • Build connections with stakeholders in the GE Oil & Gas business and represent the OGTC with customers and industry associations.
  • Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams for evangelizing industrial analytics products.
  • Serve as a thought leader externally and internally, providing guidance on best practices, industry trends, and future potential for industrial analytics.
  • Be able to influence from both a strategic and technical standpoint across the function and business. Ability to influence at the peer and senior leadership level is critical.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Masters’s degree in Engineering, Math or Science with industrial/research work experience of 7 years or more


    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to travel 20%
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Oklahoma City

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience coding in one or more languages (e.g. Python, Matlab, C, C++, R, or Java)
  • Experience incorporating engineering analytics or advanced data-driven analytics into software solutions
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to develop technical requirements based upon proactive analysis of customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments
  • Work experience in a customer facing technical role
  • PhD in Engineering, Math or Science with industrial/research work experience
  • Experience working in a research environment
  • Knowledge of engineering analysis methods, mechanical & electrical systems, software systems, and advanced analytics methods (machine learning, advanced statistics, optimization, estimation, etc.).
  • Works well in fast paced growing environment.
  • Effective teaming and problem solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Proven ability to think customer-first and effectively prioritize and pivot as required.
  • Knowledge of GE industrial products
  • Experience in oil and gas industry and familiarity with unconventional oil & gas asset technologies
  • Ability to teach and develop compelling technical success stories.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Agile methodologies
