Role Summary: The primary function of this role is to provide commercial contract management support to the Projects and Services group for all contractual issues regarding the sale, procurement, installation, testing and servicing of Wind Turbine Generators in Australia. The Contract Manager will build strong liaison with and support the Projects and Services team in all contractual matters.
Essential Responsibilities: • Evaluate assigned contracts to understand scope, schedule, terms and risks • Generate process flow charts and contract obligations summaries for Project Managers and Service Managers • Identify, document, and manage key contractual risks through the life of the contract • Optimise and clarify requirements for meeting Revenue Recognition targets • Collaborate with Project Managers, Service Managers and Site Managers in the execution of contract obligations • Perform detailed contract analyses in response to emerging issues • Develop negotiation strategies in conjunction with key stakeholders • Identify circumstances where specialised legal support is needed and obtain that support from internal or external sources as needed as agreed with the Director • Prepare for and participate in customer negotiations • Identify and develop margin enhancing Change Orders, claims, and other recovery opportunities for GE • Mitigate / refute claims against GE, prepare for and participate in negotiations • Contribute to reporting and governance functions • Manage major insurance claims and subcontractor recoveries • Maintain contract documents, amendments, change orders and other correspondence • Manage and maintain bank guarantees and insurance policies as needed • Execute subcontract tendering and negotiation to support Projects and Services operations. • Provide feedback to the Commercial team resulting in decreased risk for future contracts.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Hold a relevant Bachelor’s Degree (Technical or Business) • Significant professional experience in customer contract management in the power or construction industry • Experience working within an international corporate and high paced environment • Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, power industry supply, EPC construction, and/or services contracts environment is essential • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to influence others • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously • Attention to detail and compliance with corporate requirements is a must • Flexible approach with a can-do attitude
Desired Characteristics: • OEM or Developer experience in power industry, or experience with renewable energy / wind turbine based power generation projects is highly desirable
