Role Summary: The Commercial Manager (CM) will be responsible for the leadership and coordination of all aspects of the ITO phase of proposal management including proposal development, risk management and mitigation, specification compliance, scope development, transactional pricing and issue resolution for proposals to which he/she is allocated.
Essential Responsibilities: *Ensure Policy 5.0 (R Process) is followed for each opportunity. *Perform initial risk evaluation and determine feasibility and bid compliance concerns. *Conduct formal R1 where required. *Provide full proposal leadership from initial enquiry to deal closure and handover (track key dates and proposal submission deadlines). *Support technical scope and pricing development. *Coordinate with various internal teams in completing the proposal – sales, finance, execution, risk, legal, engineering, etc. *Ensure Risk Checklist & DOA are correctly reviewed & completed for all proposals. Review, respond and negotiate terms & conditions. *Propose and support formal R2 to obtain pricing and contract deviation approvals where required (regional and HQ). *Generate final proposal with approved deviations/language as required. *Document all deal related documents. *Use appropriate business tools e.g. SFDC, Tableau, CMR, JCE, White Paper, Big Machines, workflow documents, etc. *Support sales in deal closing process as & when appropriate. *Send order acknowledgements, obtain contract signatures and ensure internal order booking is completed on-time. *Conduct formal R3 review to identify and handover execution requirements/documents.
Qualifications/Requirements: *Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college * At least 3 years of experience in industry-related commercial / tendering / application engineering / contract management. .
Desired Characteristics: *Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred. * Master's degree in Business Administration is preferred. * Prior experience in closing large and complex agreements or executing complex projects is preferred. * Strong deal management skills. * Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs. * Strong coordination and influencing skills. * Knowledge of customer financial drivers / needs. * Ability to apply LEAN or FASTWORK to improve customer satisfaction. * Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tools (CMS, Excel, etc.) * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
