The Chemicals Management Systems group within GE Water & Process Technologies provides chemical treatment programmes for treatment of boilers, cooling systems, waste water and process applications across a range of industries from light industrial to refinery, petrochemical, power and steel plants. This vacancy is within our Nordic team providing water and process chemical treatments and primarily, but not limited to the Refining and chemical processing industry. Role Summary: This role incorporates Field Service engineer duties (~50% of the role) with additional responsibilities focused on leading a field service team ( remaining 50% of the time). Reporting to the EMEA Field Service Manager and working closely with Account Manager this role will drive service delivery excellence in resource utilization, efficient service visit scheduling, and maintaining/improving high quality service standards.
Lead and coach the GE Analytical Instruments German field service team
Ensure Service Plan execution including the application of correct test methods using appropriate test equipment
Ensure efficient scheduling of service visits by the field service team
Maximize efficient utilization of service resources and optimize service costs
Drive EHS compliance, Gensuite application, GE Learning, development plans and service auditing
Source the most appropriate training and coaching for the field service team
Complete Performance Development appraisals and Competency audits
Collects performance information and perform maintenance activities to prevent damages
Maintains inventory of spare parts stock
Performs administrative functions; such as, ordering materials, preparing job status reports, preparing reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis;
Prepares timely and accurate technical reports for internal records;
Responsible for moderate level mechanical, electrical and process related troubleshooting on chemical feed and water treatment equipment
Perform diagnostics testing, enact repairs, and perform test and calibration routines on the instruments to which assigned, observing all applicable safety procedures
Accurately account for all inventory transactions associated with the repair process
Generate customer deliverables, i.e. repair letters, calibration certificates, etc.
Collect payment information and generate shipping and billing paperwork
Maintain familiarity with all test and calibration routines required in the service process, as well as procedures for issuing calibration certificates, and perform these routines as needed
Keep up to date with all Factory / Field Service Repair Quality Operating Instructions (QOIs) pertaining to this position, including all applicable safety procedures
Understand Installation Qualification, Operating Qualification, Performance Qualification requirements to meet customer requirements and expectations
Demonstrate proficiency performing all test and calibration routines required in the Factory / Field Service QOIs, as well as procedures for on-site services and Database management
Ensure compliance with all aspects of safety on the job, including the operation and maintenance of an assigned company vehicle if required and comply with all GE Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies
Degree in a Science or Engineering and/or relevant work experience in industry, preferably connected to chemistry or water
Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments; to include, but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
German Language fluent verbally and in writing, English Language Proficiency
Strong computer skills using MS Office software
People management and project management skills
German Driving License
Ability to travel as needed ~ 50% of time.
