Role Summary: The GE Renewable Energy Engineering Wind Advanced Technology Team is responsible for advanced technology development and effective transition of technologies to product. We are seeking a Technical Leader to provide technology leadership for mechanical system technologies, including rotor add-ons, machine head components, and towers.
Essential Responsibilities: As the NTI (New Technology Introduction) Technical Leader Mechanical Systems, you will: • Identify, plan and execute high impact new technologies with high customer value and GE business impact • Apply the lean start-up principles of driving customer value, testing assumptions quickly to enable data-based pivot or persevere decisions • Work across engineering and supply chain to quantify and opportunities and benefits • Drive cross functional communication to enable business decisions for technology evaluations • Lead program execution, drive risk retirement, NTI milestones within budget • Work cross-functionally with the rotor, machine head, controls, and electrical teams to develop new technologies, trade studies and cost-out • Drive efforts to introduce advanced technology, manufacturing methods to advance strategic positioning of our product
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience including a minimum of 4 years of project or program leadership experience
Desired Characteristics: • Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Wind • Strong understanding of system and component design • Ability to summarize and communicate complex technical information • Ability to work and influence stakeholders at all levels across the organization • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills
