Role Summary: The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will provide site support to our Logan, UT facility. Within this role, you will apply your environmental, health & safety knowledge and expertise to solve problems, develop & execute objectives for yourself & others, while having the ability to effect short & long term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Site EHS Leader: • Instill & foster proactive EHS-conscious culture and drive operational ownership of GE's Environment, Health & Safety programs through all levels of the organization • Develop & implement EHS programs to comply with the GE EHS Framework requirements • Lead team of EHS Framework Element owners to ensure successful EHS management system implementation at the site • Develop & maintain general knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements • Track & lead resolution of Employee EHS Concern Reports • Develop & perform EHS audits / inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are developed and implemented on a timely basis • Perform program reviews, EHS assessments and drive closure of corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory and GE requirements • Manage the Safety Data Sheet System including access and updating of SDSs • Complete regulatory reporting requirements (OSHA, Utah-DEQ, etc.) • Coordinate with consultants & contractors on EHS related concerns • Manage compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems (i.e., Gensuite, Training Tracker, etc.) • Provide EHS classroom training preparation and delivery and maintain the site's EHS Training Tracker database • Support site EHS requirements for new product development • Assist area leaders with incident investigations and corrective actions using Human and Operational Performance methodology • Present to internal teams on metrics, project status & research • Evaluate site EHS risks and challenges and develop appropriate risk reduction strategies, including Risk Assessments, etc. • Perform additional tasks, as required by the site EHS Leader
Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related subject from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety) • 1-5 years of experience in EHS and/or related technical field

Physical Requirements of Position: • Walking and traversing stairs and or ladders regularly while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, etc.) • Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing general clean room gowning • Climbing, pulling, stooping, crouching and crawling • Repetitive tasks • Lifting up to 50 pounds • Pushing / Pulling 300 + pounds
