Role Summary:
The Lead HR Specialist will provide HR support for a stand-alone plant of 200 employees which is part of the 1100+ employee airfoil facility located in Rutland, VT. This is one of GE Aviation’s largest facilities. Work with Leaders, Managers and Employees on organizational and employee matters, as well as coaching, HR process expertise and other general HR activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition you will :


  • Ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices
  • Participate in key HR processes including performance development, compensation planning, recruiting & staffing, job design, and organizational change effectiveness
  • Coach leaders on Human Resource issues; including policies, procedures, practices, staffing and organization
  • Provide support or lead on change initiatives including planning, facilitating, etc.
  • Assure that appropriate training opportunities are in place
  • Investigate and provide advice and council regarding concerns about policies, procedures, practices or contractual issues
  • Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment
  • Assist in developing sources of qualified candidates, screening, testing and selection of applicants
  • Responsible for driving OFCCP compliance, including coordination of EEO1 and AAP reporting


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources)

    Desired Characteristics:

  • Additional experience in a human resources position is preferred
  • Knowledge of labor law and human resource practices
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven facilitation ability
