Role Summary:
The Senior Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization & JV, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy for the JV.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment
installation, processing, machining and material handling
• Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout
• Design sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
• Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
• Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality
• Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques
• Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to
best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
• Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations

***Expectation for successful candidate to spend 12-18 months in Japan and relocate to Huntsville, Alabama for a two year assignment.***

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
• At least 5 additional years of experience in an Engineering or manufacturing role
• Ability to communicate using both Japanese and English (Business Level)
• Must be able to work in Japan without sponsorship

Desired Characteristics:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or nuclear engineering is preferred
• Prior mechanical / electrical systems design, operation and modeling experience is preferred
• Prior experience with GE documentation system, practices and requirements
• Ability to sort through information and make timely and sound decisions
• Six Sigma training is preferred
• Ability to consistently produce high quality work in a production environment
• Ability to prioritize work, and communicate openly in stressful situations
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
