Role Summary:
In this role of Lead Supplier Quality Engineer for the Wind OnShore Logistics, you will:

Essential Responsibilities:
  • • Help develop and drive implementation of supplier quality program for Renewables Logistics
  • • Primary focus is on improving Quality and EHS performance of logistics suppliers for Brazil and other South American countries.
  • • Monitor supplier nonconformance and drive Continuous Improvement process for Logistics suppliers (RCAs, CAs, PAs)
  • • Manage Logistics supplier selection through robust qualification processes
  • • Ensure suppliers have capability and processes to deliver high quality service
  • • Conduct surveillance audits to assure that Suppliers have effective Process Control and robust Quality Systems
  • • Accelerate improvements in Logistics supplier EHS and Quality
  • • Develop positive relationships and work closely with Sourcing Leaders to implement supplier requirements, Quality Plans, and New Product Introductions
  • • Own Supplier audit, ensuring supplier compliance, and driving improvement plans
  • • Understand and drive Six Sigma quality internally and with logistics suppliers
  • • Lead effort to reduce Cost of Quality and DPMO for Logistics Suppliers
  • • Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring service / process compliance with engineering drawings and lifting and handling specifications
  • • Provide logistics technical support for Sourcing/Manufacturing / Engineering
  • • Participate in transportation equipment design reviews as requested
  • • Provide EHS compliance & logistics initiatives support
  • • Drive EHS incident investigations
  • • Validate Route Surveys and provide APRs (risk preliminar analysis)
  • • Perform EHS Audits for Logistics Service Providers


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
  • • Minimum of 5 years of Logistics (Trucking Co. or Industry) / Engineering / Quality experience


Desired Characteristics:
  • • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in a technical discipline
  • • Strong compliance and quality mindset
  • • Sourcing quality experience
  • • Apollo, TapRoot or other RCA tool trained
  • • Skilled trainer and mentor
  • • Experienced in Corrective Action programs
  • • Strong leadership, teamwork & facilitation skills
  • • Project Management skills
  • • Change agent & influencing skills
  • • Renewables / Wind Logistics expertise
  • • Certified SQE
  • • Black Belt certification (GE employees only)
  • • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • • Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily Intermediate English and Spanish required
