Role Summary: The Lead Engineer - Reliability will be responsible for strategy for the development & implementation of Solutions for field failures to support field services. Own, lead and collaborate with technology teams to identify and develop design solutions. Will own the fulfillment metrics for field reliability.
Essential Responsibilities: The Lead Engineer / Technologist demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. - Be responsible for the leadership of assigned projects in terms of reliability, timely delivery, quality, and compliance with contract scope - Develop and fulfill the engineering planning for the assigned projects - Coordinate cross-functional teams to prepare and deliver products in compliance with engineering standards and customer contractual requirements - Perform project / status review for each technical area of assigned responsibility - Coordinate activities to drive project quality - Ensure the resolution of engineering design and test problems through case management tools
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelors in Engineering ( Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics) - At least 8+ years of engineering experience. Minimum 4 years of experience in Product / reliability management - Experience in reliability modeling methods and analysis techniques - Training / Certification in reliability. - Proficiency in database management & query tools - Good understanding of Project Management Disciplines, Six Sigma Methodology and applications - Willingness and ability to travel ~ 10% of the time
Desired Characteristics: - Experience in reliability engineering - Experience in a matrix organization - Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent quality certification - Experience in design, manufacture or maintenance of locomotives - Knowledge of GE MSA contracts and service shop operations or equivalent contracts and service shot operations - Sound analytical and problem solving skills - Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - Proven ability to interact with customers successfully
