Role Summary: As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you're helping Power Digital by working with strategic accounts. You swiftly problem-solve technical issues for customers to show how our products can make businesses more productive, collaborative and innovative. You work closely with a cross-functional team of web developers and systems administrators, not to mention a variety of both regional and international customers.
Essential Responsibilities: Your relationships with customers are crucial in helping PDS business and bringing our product portfolio into companies both big and small around the world.
As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you will combine software development, networking and systems administration expertise with an aptitude for technical advising, troubleshooting and analysis.
You will work closely with the Software Development and Product Management teams to improve the product's vision and to make our businesses successful. You will work on a variety of projects that involve varying tasks and skills. You are a technical solutions superhero, helping customers tackle and resolve world-class technology problems.
In this role you will:
Responsible for directing engineering activities around the assessment, scope of project & strategic implementation plan
Meeting key engineering deliverables as agreed to by business leadership
Organization integration (culture, structure, and process)
Work as part of the operating team to identify and achieve synergies
Participate in cross-functional business and cultural development
Own the processes around engineering integration of the business
Responsible for engineering process definition, implementation, improvement, and sustainability through developed operating rhythms.
Provide technical direction and scope support for efforts utilizing internal and contract development resources
Work with external vendors to ensure that technical content and quality deliverables are met
Set-up and configuration of developed applications and off-the-shelf product for use in the M&D environment
Create Proof Of Concept (POC) for feasibility study and demo the working model to the end-user
Utilize your working knowledge of architectural considerations within enterprise environments
Implement critical system components that impact the overall enterprise architecture
Assist in the evaluation and selection of commercial off-the-shelf products
Research and evaluate new products and technologies and keep abreast of emerging industry trends
Maintain expertise in and provide support for existing business applications and processes
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements
Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a technical area (Architecture, Software, or Information Technology) or (a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in Information Technology or Software)
GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
Must be willing to travel (25%).
Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA, or Atlanta, GA.
Works with individuals across the GE businesses on how to use Big Data to collect and analyze market information as well as how to present analysis and recommendations to drive strategic commercial decisions
Proactive in seeking out new digital platforms to drive deeper connections with customers – such as heat mapping existing relationships on LinkedIn to identify new sales opportunities, active in industry groups/blogs to gain exposure to target audiences and viewed as a domain expert
Develops acceptable strategies to mitigate risks triggered in RFP's and/or customers' T&Cs while meeting GE business objectives
Creates and delivers solution outlines and migration paths that show the evolution of a system from a baseline state to a target or future state
Determines account potential by utilizing data modeling
Leads the implementation of economic value selling throughout customer organization
Thoroughly analyzes data to identify trends and issues that translate into a plan for the customer with some connection to seemingly independent problems
Develops acceptable mitigation strategies that consider T&Cs of customers, competition and partners and key differentiators while also meeting business objectives
Identifies and prioritizes critical GE resources needed to further the sales effort, negotiating with stakeholders for utilization
Understands people's roles, can foresee obstacles, identify workarounds, leverage resources and rally teammates
Identifies and coordinates owners, sponsors, timelines, actions and deliverables for the deal, from proposal preparation until contract closure if applicable
Leads peers and other enterprise leaders in consultative selling best practices and developing custom solutions that exceed customer expectations
Adeptly manages emotions and the negotiations process by identifying customer needs over wants
transitions to becoming a trusted advisor who is not afraid to identify challenges the customer faces internally
Achieves and maintains direct involvement in customer discussions about expected business outcomes and benefits from the solution
Focuses on tangible and intangible benefits to ensure customer awareness and satisfaction
