Role Summary:
GE Water & Process Technologies is currently searching for a Manufacturing Engineer Technician to support the production of water filtration products. The production of water purification filters is a growing business which addresses the ever increasing need for water. We are looking for a highly motivated and technically strong process control engineer to support our manufacturing facility. Come be a part of this exciting and growing technology!



Essential Responsibilities:
As the Manufacturing Engineer Technician, you will:

  • Participate in LEAN / Continuous Improvement initiative (Lead Action Workouts), and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvements
  • Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and cycles
  • Bring new ideas and positive support to the current process
  • Implement productivity actions in order to improve the process and respect objectives
  • Participate in EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) related actions, to improve safety in own area
  • Lead and effectively interface with manufacturing and other support teams to complete projects to meet EHS, production, quality, and cost savings goals within schedule and budget
  • Interface with vendors and internal contacts in an effective manner to ensure that the technical and EHS perspective is properly conveyed
  • Assure that all engineering designs and technical data are complete and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical / historical base for future reference and to meet customer / end user requirements
  • Be responsible for Part Number creation and/or revision in SAP (Systems Applications and Products) (Material Masters, BOMs (Bill of Materials), Routings)
  • Be expected to spend time on both operations floor (trials, trouble-shooting, regular production) and on project work / data analysis



Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional engineering work experience in a manufacturing environment (OR a graduate of GE technical development program (EEDP (Edison Engineering Development Program), OMLP (Operations Managemant Leadership Program) or WEP)



Desired Characteristics:
  • Experienced in application of software in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing process control recipes, adding control logic & alarming to enhance process control, and developing and installing HMI (Human Machine Interface) graphics
  • Experience in network configuration
  • Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects
  • Strong project and team leadership
