Role Summary: The Senior Product Manager - Industrial Markets serves the global Industrial & Environmental water markets with an emphasis on product, channel and business development and channel support activities.
Essential Responsibilities: The role requires deep knowledge of industrial and environmental water treatment processes in Chemical, Petrochemical, Food & Beverage, Power, Semiconductor and Municipal Water and Wastewater industries, plus business and technical skills with a proven track record of identifying and solving complex water-related customer problems.
You will drive growth of the InnovOx Total Organic Carbon (TOC) product line – online and laboratory applications – by acting as product champion across the organization, defining critical product and application requirements and coordinating sustaining engineering priorities. You will work closely with the Industrial and Environmental Applications Engineers supporting consultative sales processes, training global sales teams, developing applications resources including technical and commercial collateral, conducting customer application studies, and establishing the company and its products in a leadership position in all key industries. The position reports to the Global Product Management Leader and will be located in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
As the Industrial TOC Product Manager, you will:
Collect, analyze and prioritize VOC to drive product development, product enhancements and application-specific solutions
Work closely with Sustaining Engineering, Service and Quality to continuously improve product offerings, define and develop field and factory service offerings, and drive continuous improvement of internal processes to align with customer expectations
Travel to existing and potential customer locations globally to develop an in-depth, real-world understanding of the applications where TOC is used. Expected travel approximately 25%
Help develop and support a consultative sales process inclusive of industry sales strategy, customer facing support materials, training, and applications support
Identify new applications and markets, validate a technical fit, and help develop the strategy and region-specific pricing structures necessary to maximize potential sales opportunity
Improve the reliability of demo and customer installations by developing procedures to properly characterize sample streams, create appropriate pretreatment protocols, select proper accessories, and configure instrumentation to best fit the application
Understand applicable regulatory environments
Meet with regulators as needed to proactively confirm that products are in compliance with local/federal regulations
Develop application notes, technical papers, executive summaries, and other marketing material to support sales activity
Support field sales activity through technical seminars, trade-show attendance, and key sales demos
Comply with all company policies including Quality and EHS
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science field
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Product Manager including a minimum of 5 years industrial water treatment and/or analytical instrument work experience, with a focus on TOC measurement in water, preferably including industrial, municipal, chemical, petrochemical, food and beverage, or closely related industries
Ability and willingness to travel globally 25% of the time
Extensive experience with analytical instrumentation, preferably TOC
Deep domain expertise related to organics monitoring in industrial water treatment processes
Product development and/or sustaining engineering experience
Excellent knowledge of water chemistry and analysis
Hands-on mechanical aptitude
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong computer and Outlook / Microsoft software suite skills
Proven expertise presenting to executive and mid-level customers and groups
Demonstrated ability to effectively drive strategic plans
Master's Degree in a chemistry-related field
