Role Summary: The Quality Leader will be responsible for providing on time support to our internal or external customers on Quality Improvement opportunities that we have in our processes and our products. In this position, you will monitor our manufacturing processes (internal and external defects), Quality Data Systems, first pass yield, warranty, scrap and continuous improvement opportunities in order to implement the best practices in our operation daily.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Quality Leader, you will:
Support production and customers on quality and testing opportunities
Write quality / testing plan and inspection instructions based on International Organization for Standardization ( ISO ) / Underwriters Laboratories ( UL ) requirements
Develop Visual Work Instructions, analyze Quality opportunities including root cause analysis, corrective actions and improvement effectiveness tracking
Troubleshoot / problem solve activities as needed
Report and improve first pass yield, scrap and warranty costs
Drive reduction of internal and external defects
Train inspectors and testers to improve their skills
Coordinate / implement error proof processes
Maintain PQMT, Quality Management System (QMS) & other Quality data collection systems
Coordinate the creation of Failure Mode Effects Analysis ( FMEA’s )
Coordinate Quality documentation & procedures
Document & take ownership of , Carriage and Release Equipment ( CAR’s ), Root Cause Analysis ( RCA’s ) & 8D responses
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
Minimum of 1 additional year of experience in Production Quality
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma tools or equivalent quality tools and evidence of their application to solve complex problems in a manufacturing environment
Motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn
Ability to work a flexible schedule coincidental with manufacturing functions and global suppliers
Ability to communicate effectively across all business functions including Manufacturing and Sourcing
Highly motivated individual with the ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing priorities and multiple tasks
