GE announced they signed a definitive agreement to sell the Water & Process Technologies business to SUEZ, a services and solutions company with global operations primarily in water and waste management. The deal will be subject to customary closing conditions such as regulatory review and appropriate consultation and we expect this to be complete by mid-2017. Water & Process Technologies will operate business as usual through this process and will continue to meet its commitments to its valued customers and employees. This includes hiring strong talent to help the business grow and be successful. GE is targeting to complete the sale of the business by mid-2017.

Role Summary:
The Sales Account Manager will provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Customer facing staff responsible for winning business.



Essential Responsibilities:
As the Sales Account Manager, you will:

  • Provide for sales to assigned customers and prospects through the formulation and execution for strategies and plans that capitalize on the customer's strengths as supplemented by GE's products and services
  • Build customer relationships with the assigned customer for sales
  • Support the assigned customer in sales activities and provide assistance to the customer in identifying new opportunities
  • Coordinate activities and establish individual sales strategies obtaining appropriate approvals for pricing, and delivery
  • Negotiate contracts as required; maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base
  • Work with Marketing to develop project specific sales strategies for assigned customers
  • Make recommendations for continued growth



Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Biology or Chemistry (or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical sales position preferably in the water process / treatment industry)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the water treatment field or related area, preferably in water treatment / process support operations or technical sales

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to travel within territory, as required
  • Ability and willingness to reside in assigned region, or within customer proximity requirements, as required
  • Ability and willingness to work frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and other similar irritants typical of those found in refinery, chemical plants, power plants, etc., as required
  • Ability and willingness to comply with stringent drug testing and background check requirements set by customer safety requirements, as required
  • To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record



Desired Characteristics:
  • Basic Computer Skills including Microsoft Office, and other software programs within a Windows environment
  • Additional sales experience, technical sales
  • Knowledge of industrial applications for product lines, including the assigned products and their markets
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Integrative team working style
