Role Summary:
Lead and manage the Engineering Project Manager group for New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI).
The Senior EPM will be responsible for leadership of the EPM team covering NPI work associated with the design, qualification and support of propeller systems at Dowty Propellers reporting to the Advanced Technology and NPI Leader. The role will form part of the management team for new technology and new product introduction in the business.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead the EPM team to ensure that project activities are undertaken and results achieved to timescale and cost
• Undertake EPM activity to support business needs where necessary
• Ensure excellence in EPM activities by adherence to, and enhancement of, key processes covering:
• Project planning & schedule adherence
• Cost and resource management
• Risk management
• Scope management
• Communication and reporting
• Customer liaison
• EPM resource management to ensure that appropriate skill and experience levels are available in line with business needs
• Project budget setting, management and reporting
• Ensure technical leads have resource plans which meet programme needs
• Manage technical requirements and ensure adherence to requirements
• Support commercial negotiations on technical aspects and requirements creep where required
• Provide an escalation path for customers to resolve issues
• Support technical reviews, coordination meetings etc
• Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long range business needs
• Manage the EPM team including performance appraisals, hiring, training & development
• Provide leadership and guidance to facilitate the transition of technology and products into and out of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
• Provide leadership, experience and knowledge to help proactively identify and solve technical problems
• Support the wider Engineering and Technology team to meet customer expectations and deliver business growth


• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Proven years of engineering leadership experience
• Full understanding of the systems engineering design and development process
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Powerpoint and Word
