About Us:
• MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Electrical distribution & protection industry experience
• Ability to lead cross-functional project teams while managing multiple priorities and tasks
• Green Belt certified
• Working knowledge with MS office SW, Word, Excel, Power Point…
• Working knowledge of Pro/Engineer CAD Software
• Experience in product design, LV Distribution Equipment is a plus
• Knowledge of manufacturing production process
• Awareness of tools like aPriori

Role Summary:
Lead Should Cost engineer will play a lead role in scoping, definition, coordination and execution of cost reduction efforts via standardization, should cost, influencing make vs buy decision and supporting second source and supplier consolidation initiatives across multiple product lines within the Industrial Solution business units.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Responsible for leading definition process of standardization & should-cost projects by organizing cross-functional workouts and close cooperation with technology, manufacturing, sourcing, product management and vendors
• Work with cross functional teams (engineering, sourcing, manufacturing) to arrive at criteria for part standardization
• Partner with commodity teams to influence supplier negotiation and consolidation strategy
• Run should cost analysis and understand key cost drivers for long-term, sustainable cost reduction
• Influence make vs buy decision for critical parts
• Coordinate execution of productivity programs, validate product design changes, implement manufacturing readiness and support product launch
• Ensure projects meet their financial goals
• Ensure developed product designs meet industrial electrical distribution market needs defined by product technical specifications and UL, IEC, and ANSI standards
• Develop and test product qualification, certification, and reliability requirements
• Manage execution of prototype design, build, and testing
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to resolve design concept failures
• Work with AME group for expertise/technical leverage to improve conversions with supplier of assembly /part price
• Common metrics for sourcing/technology, target $1.0M per commodity team
• Collaborative teams to drive strategic portfolio negotiations
• Extend the learnings/implementation across other verticals of Energy Connections

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Proven record of engineering analysis and design execution success min 12 years
• Working knowledge of Change Management, Six Sigma and Design For Reliability processes
• Demonstrated experience in applying engineering fundamentals to resolve complex product performance, root cause analysis, and quality resolution issues
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute project plans while delivering financial goals
• Knowledge of product cost structure
• Knowledge of manufacturing production process (PBCA, Plastic Inj., Molding, Sheet Metal, Tooling, Castings, Forgings)
• Strong organization and analytical competencies
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence and drive change / results
• Demonstrated high level of motivation and resourcefulness
• Ability to work in stress conditions
• Strong team player and willingness to provide support to other team design activities
• Excellent interpersonal skill, and verbal written communication and presentation skills
• Fluent in English
• Working knowledge of CAD Software
